<Biography>Hiromitsu Yamasaki was born in 1983 in Fukuoka, Japan. Throughout his late twenties, he suffered from a nervous breakdown, which was accompanied by acute skin pain. The illness forced him to spend most of his time in bed. Around the same period, he began to create digital art on his own. In addition, he now composes fanciful poems and takes artful photographs.<Artist Statement>Beauty is what I create. You do not need specialized knowledge of art history to appreciate my art. If you have an appreciation for beauty, you will also love my art. Some have drawn comparisons between my work and the paintings of Gustav Klimt. Indeed, I admire the Austrian master's sensual world. I place a high value on intelligence and romance. You might ask, "How can a man be both intelligent and romantic?" I invite you to explore my works and find the answer.<How I Started>As mentioned earlier, in my late twenties, I experienced severe body pain, which confined me to my bed for most of the time. It was during this period that I started creating digital art on my computer, and it dawned on me: "This is what I must do, maybe for the rest of my life." Of course, I wasn't particularly skilled in the beginning, but when it comes to art, I'm a quick learner. I persevered and, over time, developed the ability to create something beautiful and artistic.<How Long It Takes To Create An Artwork>It depends on the artwork. From several hours to several days. I create something almost everyday. For me, creating is as natural as breathing.<How I Paint>I paint with digital tools such as Windows, Mac, Photoshop, etc.<Photography>I began taking photos a few years ago, initially as a casual and non-serious hobby for relaxation. However, it has since developed into one of my acquired skills. While my most notable and praised photos have been floral ones, I've gradually expanded the range of subjects I capture. Every time I take photos, I feel the omnipresence of beauty in the world.<Poetry>I enjoy writing poems in English, and while I rarely rhyme, it provides a unique medium for expressing feelings that I may not convey adequately through my visual art.<Why I Use English>When I was born, my father worked for a Japanese company, where a significant part of his job involved Japanese-English interpreting. As a result, I was constantly exposed to English materials during my childhood. However, my parents divorced when I was six, and shortly afterward, my father left Japan to work in various foreign countries. I was raised by my mother in Japan. It took me a long time to rekindle my passion for English. Up until my mid twenties I did not read English much and my main interest was Japanese, especially Japanese literature. I immersed myself in the world of masters such as Ogai Mori, Soseki Natsume, Yukio Mishima, Chimako Tada, and many others. But eventually I came to realize that if you speak only Japanese, which is the language spoken by the people in this country alone, you cannot communicate with the rest of the world. So I restarted studying English.Around the same time, I also began creating my art and sharing it on the internet. To my astonishment, even in the early stages of my online presence, I received enthusiastic reactions from foreign individuals. This encouragement provided significant motivation for me to continue both my English studies and my artistic endeavors.<Why I Create>My purpose is to create beauty, genuine beauty, breathtaking beauty, to fascinate your heart and elevate your soul. With my colors and lights, I believe I can take you to another world. To tell the truth, there are some bleak aspects beneath the bright surface. It is the dark side of the moon. Pain was in my skin and bones for a long time, and even now I feel like I am still struggling with the creeping shadows from the past, so to speak. Therefore, it is crucial for me to keep creating. Because I do not have to stare at the darkness while I focus my attention on colors and lights. Furthermore, I feel alive and invigorated every time I complete an artwork. It would be great if my art could mean something to you. It is your heartfelt reaction that I cherish the most.-Back to Main Site-
